Human Immunodeficiency Virus

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that causes AIDS. People who have HIV in their blood are called "HIV positive". AIDS's immune system weakens the person caught, various infections and cancers and makes it a state to fight. If the immune system, which protects the body from germs, does not work, germs will cause illness more easily. People with HIV-positive viruses can have AIDS in about 3-15 years.
